Barbie… The Truth Behind the Beauty

I was perusing the kid aisles at Target today with a 7-year old.  She loves Barbie.  We strolled down the aisle, just the two of us.  She mentioned her love of Barbie.  I asked her if she wanted to know a little secret about Barbie.  She said yes.  I told her Barbie makes herself throw up after everything she eats and that her teeth fell out from all the barf acid.  It went way over her head, like most things I say.  I didn’t really say it for her amusement anyway.  There was a decent looking girl within earshot.  But the experience reminded me of all the inside information that I have about Barbie that few others possess.  Today… I tell all. Yes it’s true.  Barbie’s teeth were worn down… Read more »

Whee, This Health Stuff is Easy!

I don’t like throwing out personal stories I receive from others too often.  A lot of health gurus out there make a bad habit of selectively sorting out all the favorable testimonials they receive and busily go about propagandizing their work – and believing it themselves.  I may have once been into telling everyone how awesome I was, mostly because I knew I had really stumbled upon something amazing and no one was paying attention and it was driving me crazy.  But I don’t have that kind of time anymore, I’m too busy learning.   This, however, is a classic case of honeymoon chasing, and restricted eating gone awry – and it’s well-written enough to be VERY enjoyable to read. We’ll keep it totally anonymous, but I will say I’m glad I took her by surprise and made her realize. … Read more »

Female Masculinity, PCOS, Hirsutism

I’ve been fascinated with female masculinization, particularly facial hair growth or what is called hirsutism, ever since I heard about Diana Schwarzbein’s bout with a syndrome known as Stein Leventhal (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS basically). Okay, it started back before that, when Rebecca Romijn was the bearded lady in the movie Dirty Work, but that’s unrelated. Recently this issue has been popping up again and again. For starters, last spring I had a female roommate who: 1) Was not menstruating 2) Had freakishly hairy arms that hadn’t always been like that 3) Was super thin but stored fat in the lower back area only (male pattern fat storage) Of course, this person was a misguided health fanatic that hadn’t always had these problems. Although I purposefully didn’t get into… Read more »

Perfect Pregnancy

While RRARF (my program for increasing metabolism) is a new program not even two years old yet, I figured it was time to get something out there on the topic of pregnancy and fertility right away. The bottom line is that RRARF can be extremely helpful for not only helping couples achieve fertility, but making sure pregnancy, delivery, and the development of a very strong and healthy kid are all at their best. We’ve now seen that RRARF can restore missed periods with great consistency, and that these missed periods are often directly attributable to reduced metabolism (and the low progesterone production that accompanies it). Metabolism up, period returns. In most of the cases dealt with thus far, it really is that simple.  “Speaking of periods, I think mine have… Read more »

Lose 25 Pounds in 28 Days!

Aurora, known in my household as schmookie-wookie muffin honey biscuit – or something along those lines, had jaw surgery performed on Cinco de Mayo – just 4 short weeks ago. I did a post about it back then, bragging about how healthy she has managed to get herself over the past 16 months or so – re-mineralizing/de-arthritisizing her jaw joint, overcoming an autoimmune disease completely without a trace of it ever occurring, re-establishing the regularity of her menstrual cycle, and so forth (including a complete cessation of cold sore outbreaks – something I previously mentioned as “herpes outbreaks” without specifying that they were ORAL, not, um – well, let’s just say she said, “Oh great, now all your followers think I was like a former prostitute”). Anyway, her jaw surgery… Read more »

Pre-Maxillofacial Jaw Surgery Diet

Yesterday, my beloved sweetie muffin pants was torn to pieces by who is considered to be the best oral surgeon on the face of the planet – Dr. William Arnett in Santa Barbara, CA. My girlfriend suffered from what Arnett referred to, in complex medical terminology, as a “banana head.”  “Your asymetries are out of this world” he said right before surgery.  Wow.  Thanks for the confidence doc!  She slowly developed a severe crossbite, which the docs hypothesize MUST have stemmed from a childhood injury to the jaw, as one side of her jaw grew after childhood and the other didn’t – causing her jaw to become super tweaked to the point where only 1 upper tooth made contact with the lower teeth. Made it a little tough to chew…. Read more »
