I can’t find where I got this from but you can make a decent corn syrup substitute buy boiling 2c sugar with 3/4c water a dash of salt and an acid, I usually just squirt about a teaspoon of lemon juice in (can’t taste it at all) and cooking till it’s syrupy, technical I know, sorry. :( Unlike a straight sugar solution of that concentration it doesn’t readily crystallize and it has so far seemed to do the trick all the times I’ve used it.
