I’ve had similar digestion problems where it feels like the food is sitting in my stomach and not going anywhere. I’ve found that drinking some apple cider vinegar helps to alleviate some of the discomfort. You can mix ACV with water (recipes online)- or the Bragg’s brand now has pre-made ACV drinks- I’ve found them at whole foods. I get the original/plain, which is just ACV, honey, and water. Sort of an odd taste at first, but you get used to it- just like an odd apple juice. Take a couple sips before, during, and after your meal (or whatever you find works). Obviously it’s a low-cal liquid, so you don’t want to overdo it. But a couple sips with meals might help.
You could also try HCL capsules (essentially same concept as the ACV) to help with digestion. Pretty easy to find instructions for those online.
