Going gluten-free never helped me much at all and it eventually led me down the dark and ugly path of GAPS and AIP.
I was thinking about thyroid meds and whether they can be a tool or a crutch during this process. For example – if someone has low temps and their blood work and symptoms all say hypo, would it be wise to up the thyroid meds? And, if a larger dose of thyroid meds did result in better temps, would that be a move in the right direction or an “artificial” response to the medication? Keep in mind we’re talking about a thyroid that an ultrasound has shown to be pretty atrophied (thanks synthroid!)
