My Favorite warming breakfast as of late: I should just call this ?amazing maple-apple, cheddar bacon oatmeal w/chocolate?
Came up with this on a whim one day and have been sharing it with family and friends ever since!!
1 to 1.5 cup of cooked oats with a 1/4 to 1/2 green apple diced into to little bits and added during boil.
When done cooking, add some pure maple syrup, or brown sug.with a dash or 2 of cinnamon (just eye ball it..no measuring)
About 1/4 cup of half and half or whole milk(not to soupy..gotta keep that body warm)
Now for the best part:
grate some sharp cheddar cheese on top(it will melt on the warm oats)
Add two pieces of apple-wood smoked bacon chopped up into chunks(bacon was cooked while the oats are cooking)
Now for the killer ingredient. Get a chocolate bar that has at least 60% cocoa. Green&Blacks is my favorite brand. Finely grate it on top!!(if u can find Green&Blacks spiced chili..even better..with added heat!!!!)
The taste of cheddar mixed with bacon, chocolate and maple!!! Holy Shiz!!
Throw in a slab of buttered toast or two and your temps will thank you!!
I can’t even explain how satisfying this breakfast is!! Wish I had a pic of the final result.
Feel free free to mix match fruit/dairy and alternative milk combos(coconut/almond milk beverage could work well too)
The key combo is chocolate, cheddar, bacon, and maple!! I think all the 4 S’s are in this meal. enjoy:)
