Any other gardener inflicted on the cultivation of Dahlia Flowers this season?

I have been making an effort to decorate my balcony in the recent past, and surely there is no better way to look peaceful and colourful than Dahlia Flowers, which is multi-layered. Lastly, I was able to locate some serious planters and organic soil over at abodelook that they sound like the ideal environment to the root system. Has anybody here grown the varieties of dinner-plate in a pot with success, or do they not really require a complete garden bed to be left to grow to their utmost size?
