My doc recommended colonics and I’ve already paid for the sessions. I see from Matt’s books they fill you with fluids and I know from experience, I do get even colder from them.

But I’ve just started Matt’s diet and I’m not to the place where I’ve convinced myself it works. I don’t want to waste my investment in the colonics and I have heard some positive reviews about them. I’d like to ensure there’s no stone unturned, nothing I’ve not tried to heal from my sickness (details in my profile). I’m going to finish out the course of colonics (about 5 more.)

So I’m in between a rock and a hard place. I know they make me colder, but I’ve not yet fully convinced myself that being colder is a problem. But just in case it is, how can I deal with the excess fluids? Diuretics like these foods? Or just continue to do the diet like normal e.g. starches, sugars, salts, and sleep?

I’m afraid the answer isn’t “don’t take the colonic,” for the reasons stated above. I’m going to take them and just deal with the consequences. If Matt’s diet truly works, I’ll balance out in time. If anything, I can observe the effects right away of too much liquid.

    What do you think?

Well I’m about to find out. Currently sitting on the colonic table pooping my bottom out. Temp was 99.3 measured both an hour ago and just before coming in. Pee has been clear yellow today, haven’t been able to get that golden shower yet on the diet. But was glad the temps are right. First thing I noticed that after 3 days on this diet, poop is much clumpier. I suppose constipation, although I go either daily or 2x a day. I have been hitting the wheat awful hard since starting. Second thing I noticed is this room feels pleasant. It usually feels cold. Just before coming in, I had some thirst, so a few sips of tomato juice which has salt in it. She always gives about 10-12oz of “Emergen-C” water after sessions but I will only sip a bit and some more mater juice afterward.

    Will report afterward.

Temperature immediately after: 98.8. So it did cool me off, but very little. I didn’t have to use the heater in the car at all. In fact, I had the cool on, which is highly unusual for me, ever. (See the story in my profile.)

An hour later, 98.6F. Seems to be no ill effect.

Well in my opinion you should ask your doctor for help and follow his advice. It is great to be on a diet but if you do not feel well and suffer from excessive fluid it is a good time to ask your physician for advice.

The trouble with natural diuretic foods is that some of them have strange side effects and should not be taken when you already have a low blood pressure or while pregnant so this is why I suggest asking your physician for advice.

Basically he or she will either prescribe you some real diuretics (e.g. medical drugs) or approve using some natural diuretic foods. If he or she does so, here are some diuretic foods and recipes recommended by others.

But make sure you contact your doctor first and ask him for advice.

Not quite sure how that fits with the original post? But anyway, the colonic didn’t have any ill effect after all.

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry for any misunderstanding. I was just replying to your question about how to deal with excess fluids as you said to be between rock and hard place. It is great that colonics did not have any ill effects after all. Have a nice weekend.
