Seriously, why are people drinking it?

I like it on very hot days when icecold:) I have noticed that not all brands taste great and sadly I can’t get young coconuts in stores near me.

Though I still couldn’t describe the taste to someone.

Haha, I’m right there with you @Fon2d2. I’d rather drink tap. I’m sure you couldn’t taste it in a smoothie, though, so all of the assumed wonders would still be there.

hahaha! I tried it recently and thought the same thing. The first few slurps, when it was cold, were good, but I got sick of it fast.

I’d drink coconut water with slivers of coconut meat in it when I was in Thailand. It was very tasty, and cheap, maybe the equivalent of 60c for ~12oz.

Oh, yeah, I wasn’t even thinking of the fresh stuff! That is good, I got to have some years and years ago in South America. I totally even forgot that existed, what with the little juice boxes floating around everywhere these days.

I quite like an unsweetened, plain coconut water drink. I first tried it when pregnant because I heard it was isotonic and could increase amniotic fluid- which did happen, and may have been due to the coconut water, (and watermelon I was eating for the same reason), but I will probably never know. I also drank it during labour and it seemed to give me an energy hit, it was definitely refreshing.
