Just read this article about Rhabdomyolysis (essentially kidney trauma) induced by Cross Fit. I know several people who got kidney infections training for marathons- I’d imagine it’s a similar thing going on with all intense over-training. Thought you 180-Ders would be interested.

This just happened to a friend of mine….trying to get ‘fit’ before her wedding, ended up in the hospital for several days.

There’s no CrossFit here so I’d never heard of it before but coincidentally east West Healing wrote an entire article about it yesterday what causes it and how to avoid it.

I crossfit, and honestly, if you over exercise doing ANY type of exercise, you can get rhabdo. Basically, you gotta be smart, and get coaches who help you be smart and leave your ego at the door.

CrossFit can be harmful just like any type of exercise, but it’s also the best thing I’ve found for community, fun, strength, mobility and endurance.
