Just curious what other people do when a craving comes along and the craving is screaming ‘PUFAS…eat me’…for example, a simple peanut butter and jam sandwich.

Or this morning, I am in the mood for pumpkin pancakes with a caramel-molasses walnut sauce. Walnuts are the devil when it comes to PUFAS. I do very well about not being obsessive or neurotic about food, but I DO try to avoid PUFAS and un-fermented soy products. Do I just say ‘eff-it’ and make the sauce for my pancakes? I probably will, but I was just wondering what y’all do when you want to eat peanut butter or other nuts.

I love almonds, they aren’t quite as bad as walnuts. I toast them myself in coconut oil. I think on the PUFA issue you just have to do the best you can while leading your life. Cook mostly your own food is most important.

@curiouscoconut If you like having nuts…..hazelnuts,macadamias and cashews are the ones lowest in PUFA,they contain more MUFA.
Maybe you’ll feel less guilty eating them.;)

Thanks for your replies. I do the best I can with the PUFA issue. Like I said, I don’t obsess over everything I put in my mouth. I was just thinking about all of the nuts I used to eat. Not sure I could stomach almonds anymore. I used to eat those like candy because nuts were ‘healthy’ in my mind. I know they have some health factors, but PUFA’s outweigh them for me.

Thanks for the hazelnut reminder. I had some in my cabinet that I forgot about. @dutchie Have you tried cashew butter and jam sandwich? I suppose it would satisfy a peanut butter and jam craving.

    Thanks again!

@Curiouscoconut No,I haven’t bc I always have found peanutbutter gross. And I don’t eat bread.
    Never craved nuts much anyway.
