What are the dos and don’ts after a tooth extraction?

Hi, my hubby is suffering from a tooth ache for the past few days. He is not able to consult a dentist because of his work nature. He is working in a financial firm and this is the peak time of their work. He can’t stay back from the work. He went to work after taking pain killers. One of his upper teeth is decayed and severely infected. The pain is due to this infected tooth. I think, he needs a tooth extraction. He has got dental fillings in that tooth. But, the filling was lost gradually. Now he got leave for a day. We are planning to consult an emergency dentist in Ajax. One of our neighbors told us about a dentist in Ajax, Dr. Mitchel Shields. Our neighbor had undergone periodontal treatment from that clinic. We are planning to take an appointment from that clinic. But before undergoing the treatment, I would like to know whether he needs to undergo any tooth extraction, Is it possible to go to office on the very next day itself? What are the dos and don’ts after a tooth extraction? If anybody knows about this, please help me with your replies.
