I started rrarfing in April and my temps are up some, but not really where I think they should be. Running about 97.3 in the mornings on the cool side of my cycle. This rest thing is hard when your job is endurance exercise. I did take a week off in May and I think it really helped. This week is the first week where I’ve been sleeping normally. I’m not sure if that’s progress, or just timing. Every so often I do go through a “sleep phase”. Just not sure how to do this without quitting my job…

    Hey Seneca…

What is your job? Are you a ranger or something? Bike messenger? I wouldn’t panic about your temps if you are doing lots of endurance exercise. In my experience it is impossible, and reduced temps actually make the endurance exercise easier – especially in hot weather. But do try to get as many carbs in you as possible and as much sleep as you can get. Those will help quite a bit, even if you don’t see your temps raging in the mid 98’s.

I deliver mail. Bike messenger was close. Yeah, it is definitely different living life with higher temps. :D I’m glad you let me know that “normal” temps may not be realistic for me. I can push the carbs a little more than I have been. I’m getting past some orthorexia and really happy to be out of the kitchen! That was consuming waaay too much of my life.

endurance exercise totally kills my temps to 96 about 20 minutes after. And this comes from even 15 minute jogs. definitely no more in my near future.

So strength training on top of all this? Yay or nay?
