This is a lame ass and pointless study. Okay, that was a bit redundant. I should’ve just called it a “study.” Lame ass and pointless should just be inferred. But the results of the study are too comical not to mention. Seems that living in close proximity to a bunch of fast food joints, when controlled for socioeconomic factors, results in a slightly lower risk of obesity in teens.

Let’s say it’s a legit correlation. Maybe having a variety of filling, “delicious”, satisfying food takes the stress out of being poor (or just living). I mean, if your mom works 2-3 jobs but you still can’t make rent and school sucks and etc., then at least you have options to feed yourself cheaply (in your eyes), without waiting or having to clean up shiz, blah, blah, blah.

I can’t take any study reported on the tv / interwebs / “news”papers seriously any more. Whenever I hear some claim made I just shake my head and move on now.

Was it Oscar Wilde who said there are Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics? Cos that mofo was onto something. Just needed to add Research Papers in there somewhere.

I like the start of the last paragraph “A mechanism to explain the data is still unclear.”…well, why not just make one up then! A lack of a logical explanation has never stopped you idiots before :)
