I have been reading here and just finished Eat for Heat on Wednesday. I figured my metabolism was low and I’ve been refeeding, limiting water consumption, and taking it easier with exercise (but still doing New Rules of Lifting 3x a week and walking 2x a week).

Well this morning I FINALLY took a temperature reading and it was 96.3. Something needs to happen here!

I have decided this morning no more exercise for awhile, going to keep refeeding and limiting water consumption. I am also hypothyroid and take a low dose of armour. I was tested last week and everything came back as “normal” so my dose wasn’t upped.

Now I feel I should be calling the doctor back and question how normal my numbers are and if I need more medicine. It’s all confusing and now I feel so SO sad that it’s come to this. :(

I knew Paleo and low carb screwed me up, and doing that at 2 months post partum was probably a HORRIBLE idea. I was so healthy before and during pregnancy and now it feels really helpless.

Thank you for reading, and I wish everyone the best of luck on their journey.

Hi Karen, congrats on taking the big leap! I’m sorry that you feel hopeless and I know how you feel. After dieting, paleo, and low carb I didnt get my period for 3 years and tried everything to bring it back but the only thing that did was eating more and taking a break from exercise. I had already cut back on crossfit and only went 2xs per week but I stopped everything and within 3 weeks I had my period back. Now I’ve had it 3 times (all normal cycle lengths too) and my temps are almost always above 98.6. I’ve recently begun exercising again (after resting for about 3 months) and I’m feeling much better overall. Our bodies are very resilient when we give them the rest and food they need. I wish you the best of luck!!

Thank you saisrice!! That was really inspiring, I’m hoping my body can jump back quickly.
