Any one have suggestions for a yummy gluten Free Pastry? I have been making homemade fruit pies, the fruit filling have been awesome but my attempts at gluten free pastry so far have been nasty!

Also interested if any one has come up with a good gluten free bread recipe?

    Cheers

This recipe is a great sweet shortcrust made with rice flour. It comes out a bit like a shortbread biscuit.

I tried making pie crust from scratch about 3 times – no good and one from a mix, again, no good. But I did buy some frozen from Whole Foods that are great. First ingredient is butter. No PUFAs. Other ingredients include: rice flour, tapioca starch, corn starch, eggs, potato starch, water, lemon juice, baking powder, xanthum gum and cane juice. I made a sour cream rhubarb pie with it for my book club – everyone thought the whole pie was great and couldn’t tell that the crust was GF.

I second the pie crusts at Whole Foods. They are really good.
