One question that I like from narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy is, “What will you do AFTER you reach your goal?” It goes along with the saying, “The way to get to your goal is to reach beyond it.”
I’m really not sure the answer to this question myself. I think I would get anxious if I got healthy and I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. So. . . I’m starting an improv class to start building my post-illness lifestyle now. I think Matt emphasizes this point in later chapters of Diet Recovery 2.
