How should I prepare before the LASIK eye surgery?

Hey, guys,
I extremely have a bad vision for many years since middle school. During my school time, I was using glasses and stepped to contacts at the age of 18. But I was never happy using both.I’d been thinking about LASIK for several months but I’m always apprehensive about the risks involved.
Shortly after, I made an appointment for a preliminary eye exam for Lasik eye surgery in Boston as my eyesight is becoming worse after each day. The doctor recommended me to do it as soon as possible as per my convenience. So, I would be doing it by next week. How should I prepare before the surgery?
