ParticipantI started RRARF less than a week ago, but everything I eat is giving me heartburn/indigestion and I’m super constipated… I’m eating a good mix of all the foods groups I think. Here’s what I’ve eaten today so far and maybe someone can give me some tips? I did take an antihistamine this afternoon cause lunch really didn’t agree with me…
Breakfast: coffee with half & half, toasted gluten free whole grain bagel buttered with bacon & cheese
Lunch: 2 corn tortilla enchiladas with chicken, cheese, beans, rice and mole sauce, decaf latte.
Dinner (leftovers from last night): brown rice spaghetti noodles, tomato & basil sauce, homemade meatballs, mandarin orange
My temps have been between 95 to 96 degrees at first waking. After meals they are 97-98 degrees.

ParticipantYes, you can expect to see some indigestion when starting with refeeding. I had the same for a few weeks.
How many calories are you having most days?

ParticipantNo idea on the calories, not tracking it… eating one “normal” size portion though… If I had to guess… maybe around 2000-2500?

ParticipantI can get constipated/go less frequently if I don’t consume enough calories. For you, it might be worth tracking so that you can get an idea whether you need to eat more or not. Additionally, your weight and height will influence your calorie needs, obviously.

ParticipantIs everything your eating exactly what you are craving at that specific time of day?
I only ask because im not a big meat eater and I know meat and eggs in the morning would make my stomach quite upset, my body craves toast and mainly carbs with a little fat in the morning, I can usually only handle meat at lunch or maybe at dinner if I didn’t have any at lunchDecember 9, 2013 at 9:58 pm #14195Steven e
ParticipantIf I remember correctly from your video, you are restricting sugars, which seems evident from your menu. I’m pretty sure sugars speed my digestion in some way. Possibly because they are generally metabolically stimulating? I like a few sips of soda with or after meals. During re-feeding I was drinking several a day sometimes. Sugars are generally very easily digested and can up your calorie intake with little effort on your body’s part. You are eating a lot of pretty heavy stuff it seems to me. Lots of fats in there and whole grains are harder to digest than refined. That may be fine if that is what you feel like eating (v.s. think you should be eating) but those do sound like heavy meals. You might try, even just for a week or so, stocking some refined starches, like white rice, rice noodles, white flour, some sugars, and pasta. And maybe some soda (blue sky is pretty good and has no junk in it). Then stop thinking and start eating :) You may find that sugars can be your friends. Finally, if you are really going to make this a project vlogging and all, you should probably drop the 150 bucks to talk to Matt personally for some guidance, if you haven’t done so. It might not be a bad idea to get a bit of a start first as you are, but I can say I wish I had talked to him sooner. At least make sure you’re fairly up to speed by reading eat for heat and diet recovery II. I think you can get them free with an amazon prime trial right now.

ParticipantJust seeing the additional responses now. Yesterday I was really in the mood for white chocolate and made a batch of white chocolate candy cane fudge. I’ve been eating it whenever I it want over the past two days. I’ve also added dr pepper… The other food I’m eating is what I enjoy… I’m not purposely restricting anything… I did find the eggs and bacon too heavy in the morning and just had a bagel this morning…
I will say I’ve suddenly noticed some dramatic health improvements… I listed more deets on my blog if you’re interested… http://islandsneezer.wordpress.com
