I have Interstitial Cystitis. I started to drink seven to nine 16 ounce bottles of water a day. I also started to run 3 miles a day. Thus, I have been symptom free for 5 years. The winter following this, I developed raynaud’s syndrome. Just recently, someone on Facebook suggested reading “Eat for Heat.” I have tried the reduced fluid and warming foods for the past three days. My Raynaud’s is much much better. HOWEVER, the IC symptoms are all back with a fury. Today, I have upped the amount of fluids, but I feel the cold creeping in. What do I do? HELP!!!

Sorry to hear. Have you done something different since you have posted this?

This is such a hard thing to give advice on as everyone with IC reacts differently to foods. Does it not matter what you are eating (including spices), just that you need a lot of water? I wish I could be more helpful.

I also have IC, and have been trying this out for a couple weeks. My symptoms were pretty much in control when I started, and I’ve actually noticed them getting even better lately. Drinking less fluids has helped me a lot with not feeling like I have to pee all the time and other bladder sensitivities.

However, I recognize this is a balance, and when I was first diagnosed it was the opposite and drinking water helped me. But I probably went overboard with the water drinking thing. I imagine you would have to find what amount is right for you. Curious to know how things are going for you now and if there is anybody else in the forum with IC?
