ModeratorThis is the funniest joke yet. Matt made me a moderator. Does he have any idea of how many sites I’ve been thrown off?

ModeratorWhat’s the over-under for being thrown off here? 6 months? :-D
July 9, 2013 at 7:41 pm #8020ThomasSeay
ModeratorWell @Rob, Matt has probably done something very smart here. By incorporating me into the system I am probably less likely to go rogue
- Lasted about 4 months on Paleohacks
- About 9 months on Walt Stoll’s Group
- I don’t know how long I lasted on Dr Adamo’s site Maybe 6 months
- Lasted about a week on the High Brow Paleo Facebook group, even though I was sort of reason it was created in the first place (a group of dissidents from Paleohacks
- I willingly left Ray Peat’s Facebook group under strange circumstances.
- Hell, I even got thrown off the Mad Magazine forum once.
There have been many, many more that I can’t even think of right now.

ModeratorYou can’t have been kicked off more sites than Matt has so you’re probably safe here.

ModeratorWhy? How many sites has Matt been kicked off?

ModeratorNot recently, but back a couple of years ago he would post on low-carb paleo sites, and people did NOT like what he had to say. There was all kinds of outrage that he was recommending carbs, and he got banned from a bunch of sites like Mark’s Daily Apple to name just one. He got called a douche a lot. But, he did get a lot of people’s attention because people on those sites who were having issues started checking out 180 and came over to the dark (carby) side.

ModeratorI think Free The Animal and Kurt Harris’ site, Archevore (formerly PaleoNu) too, and he’s tepidly welcome over at Jimmy Moore’s site.
That was how I found him too- he was campaigning and causing a ruckus in the paleo/LC world, and got attention. His good writing and rigorous thinking kept me here.

ParticipantI found Matt via Cheeseslave and one of Sean Croxton’s summits. I was so deep in paleo doo-doo that I thought he was fucking nuts. But the more I realized how shitty I felt, the more curious I became, and now here I am. Melissa McEwen’s post about breaking up with paleo also helped.

KeymasterThis was the best post ever along those lines. http://www.dannyroddy.com/main/2010/7/14/i-used-to-think-matt-stone-was-a-douche-i-was-wrong.html
It’s normal to think I’m a douche at first. That’s what we tend to think of anyone who contradicts something we are convinced is truthful, inside information.

ParticipantWhere’s the How I Found Matt thread? I want more heart-warming stories!

ParticipantMatt – That is a good post. I especially like that he includes this quote of yours: ?If you aren’t confused about health and nutrition, then you haven’t studied it long enough or deeply enough.
I totally thought I knew everything there was to know about nutrition. Paleo was it man. So I listened to what you had to say, and dismissed it outright. But the seed was planted (commence dirty jokes).
I want to mention also that I’m studying nutrition (currently work in finance – it’s not my gig), so I’m glad I found you now before I had the chance to give a bunch of people eating disorders.

ModeratorAny fun stories of people who have gotten kicked off 180?

ParticipantThanks Rob. I created a gravatar account, but no idea how to link it to my profile…
