Please help. My period is now on day 16 and I am not sure when it will stop. It is not heavy bleeding, but regular mostly. Around day 7, it appeared to have stopped, but the next day it kept on going stronger. The only change I made was I started wearing The Keeper menstrual (rubber) cup. I stopped wearing it after the first week and a half and switched to regular organic pads. I have not bled this long in 3 years. I have PCOS, but I am overcoming it gradually. My periods used to last for up to 2 months at a time, with only 2 weeks of no bleeding.
On the up side, I did not have any of my typical PMS symptoms such as nausea, terrible cramping, weakness and bloating. For the past 2-3 years, my cycles have been pretty normal: 35 average days, with 6-7 days of bleeding. This is the first time in nearly 3 years I have bled this long. It is really concerning and I am not sure if I should go to the doctor or not.
I have not done any extreme dieting in several months (I was previously on the GAPS diet, but stopped in April). I am eating a whole foods diet that is balanced with enough fats, carbohydrates and protein. I do not measure anything, but I try to give in to my body’s cravings with whole foods. Another piece of background info: I travel for my job, and this definitely puts stress on me along with me not being interested in my job at all.
Can anyone help?
