I’ve been getting skin tags like crazy recently and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on.

I was low cal and low carb for a long time. Then did Ray Peat, but was still only eating around 1700 cal per day. Past 6 months or so I’ve been trying to eat for heat and tweaking things- but can’t quite get anything dialed in.

I started getting some skin tags when doing Ray Peat – but the last several months it seems like they’re really growing quickly. Do others suffer with this? Is this a necessary evil, like weight gain, until I fix my metabolism? I know skin tags are a sign of blood sugar problems- but does that mean I’m actually eating too much sugar? I feel good when I eat a lot of sugar and have trouble eating enough protein to balance it out (though I do still eat protein).

Also, if/when I do get things balanced out, do skin tags eventually go away, or am I stuck with the ones I’ve already grown?

I believe that all skin conditions like corns, warts, skin tags? are a sign of fungal overgrowth caused by low immunity which basically is low metabolism. A long time ago when I was severely undereating and cold all the time, I got a patch of pink skin discoloration the size of an apple on my thigh. The dermatologist said it wasn’t contagious and it’s auto immune related. When I started eating well again it went away. Then, years later I got into fasting and calorie restriction and it came back!! Now it’s mostly gone again. I would imagine that all these growths are kept in check once temperatures come up. But as long as they are down and even when we eat tons they are just fed by the sugar. Seems like an evil on the way to recovery.
Check out earth clinic for remedies for now.
