I am researching traditional radiators and would like to hear your experiences and opinions. In many older homes, these systems are still widely used for heating, but I am unsure how efficient they are compared to modern alternatives.
Do traditional radiators provide consistent warmth, or do they waste energy over time? Also, how costly are they to maintain and repair? I am particularly interested in whether upgrading to newer heating systems is worth the investment or if keeping traditional radiators remains practical.

Traditional radiators can still provide consistent and comfortable heat especially in older homes. They warm up more slowly than modern systems and are generally less energy efficient radiators uk mainly due to heat loss and older boilers but once heated they maintain warmth well.
Maintenance is usually moderate. Common issues include leaks, air trapped inside requiring bleeding and sludge buildup in the system. Repairs are not usually very expensive if problems are caught early.
Upgrading to modern heating can improve efficiency and lower energy bills especially with better insulation and newer boilers. However if your current system is well maintained and working properly keeping traditional radiators can still be a practical and cost effective option.
