Treatment for osteoarthritis

Hey everyone! I am in my forties. At the age of 24, I met with an accident. At that time, my hand got fractured. But I got completely healed from that. But at times I used to have hand pain. But from few days I am having a constant hand pain and I am finding very difficult to move. I told this to my friend. She told that it may be because I am suffering from osteoarthritis. He told that my accident and the hand pain, which was repeating may be a reason for this! I was planning to meet our family doctor! But my friend suggested a clinic in Alberta which provides treatment for osteoarthritis. But the treatment is using medical marijuana. Is there any complication involved in using this treatment? Will this treatment take more time for recovery? Can this treatment control the pain?
