I just had a blood test done last week, which showed that I have very high cholesterol levels (especially LDL) and also dangerously high triglyceride levels.
I know that a high metabolism is supposed to help lower cholesterol and triglycerides. But would an extremely high triglyceride level mean that my metabolism is low. I am a little uneasy about this because I have been gaining weight over the last several months increasing my calorie intake. And I realize that high triglyceride levels indicate risk for hear disease. Is there anything else that could be causing high triglyceride levels besides a low metabolism. And is increasing metabolism the only way to lower them?
