The benefints/ harms of vaccinations is something I’ve been wondering about for some time. I’m finding it difficult to get a clear understanding of the topic.

Did anyone here thoroughly looked into this topic, critically looking at both sides. I was hoping on finding a really good article doing just that, but so far failed to find any.

Chris Kresser did look into the flu shot very thoroughly: http://chriskresser.com/the-truth-about-flu-shots-and-what-to-do-instead

And here’s what he’s said about vaccines in general:

Thanks, those links were pretty useful :)

Where Chris decides not vaccine his children it seems he’s making the decision on an individual level. It can be argued that not vaccinating in a community that does is the best decision, freeriding the benefits of ‘herd immunity’. However, for a whole community it might be best to vaccinate, reducing the incidence of serious childhood diseases.

    You’re welcome.

Yes, I agree that considering the community you’re in should also be a factor in the decision. But I think it is a decision that people need to make for themselves. I don’t have kids yet, so I have no idea what I’ll do, but it’s definitely not something I’ll take lightly.
