Didid you ever discover that all food started to taste bland? I experienced this. It is why I stopped stuffing my face. Eating wasn’t enjoyable for me. How do I avoid this but continue recovering?

What type of bread did people eat 100s of years ago. They didn’t have the technology to refine grains. So whole grain had to be the base of there wheat products.

Simon, thanks for the links. I like his concept and can use this concept with many different exercises.

Simon, so what are you saying about the rotator cuff (RC) muscles and HIT? It wasn’t too clear. I was saying that this HIT program doesn’t focus on all muscle groups, RCs being one group. BC of this you are more likely to tear them (like you did) bc they remain weak while the other “show muscles” become stronger. The RCs aren’t able to take the load that the other muscles where trained for so when you do a different type of exercise that uses them more, you could tear them. So I wanted to know what if there are other programs where I can incorporate other exercises for these muscles (and other muscle groups HIT doesnt hit) and still be an effective workout. Erin, Matt makes it sound like HIT is the holy grail of workouts and everything else is a waste of time. What types programs are good for strength and leanness and what are a waste of time? Should I just focus more on doing exercises much slower using the same concept?
    thanks for your help!

MtnBoi That article states, “Cavity-causing bacteria in the mouth consume simple sugars, converting them into acid plaque.” They also state, “consuming less simple sugar (sucrose or table sugar) will reduce the number of acid- producing bacteria in the mouth. ” But Matt says that simple sugars help to strengthen teeth. I’m confused, so who’s right??

Before getting pregnant Eating the Food helped keep me warm. Now that I’m pregnant it’s harder to keep my temps up. Also, currently, at night I get super hot. I have to turn the heat down to 60 degrees. It’s like all my heat comes out at night. I had my blood tested during my pregnancy check up but I donno if they checked thyroid. They said my iron was low so I’m now taking an iron supplement. It might just be the pregnancy bc I didn’t have this problem before.

That’s what the doctor told my dad but that was many years ago but I just Googled it (like I should’ve before I wrote this) and it’s a myth. But it does say in this article (http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/stonesadults) “People who do not drink enough fluids may also be at higher risk, as their urine is more concentrated.” Now that my dad has increased his fluid consumption he rarely gets kidney stones. Could it be more of having very dark urine all the time that increasing your risk of kidney stones?

Erin, I found Gatorade powder at Costco for $10 and it makes 9 gallons. I might just go with non organic milk so I can drink more and not burn a whole in my pocket. My hands are still freezing after trying very hard to eat warming foods. My temps are still 97.7 before bed after eating ice cream. When my hands are warm they don’t stay warm for long. I tried eating a salt and sugar blend when I wasn’t hungry and my hands were cold…didn’t do anything. Could the baby be taking all my heat?

Slow burn is the training method Matt advocates. For example doing 5 exercises very slowly for 60-90 seconds. There are other variations but that’s one

Erin, probably. Water just seems to cool me down. I can’t drink plain water anymore. Milk is a little pricey at $6/gallon organic (or even $3 non organic) so I try to drink Gatorade more than milk

Erin I’m 25 wks now, but my temps don’t seem to budge- 97.7 at night with warm hands. I even took it after a light but warm meal and it only went up .1 degree. AARG! My hands seem to stay warm when I drink more juice with salt in it or milk. I still don’t seem overly warm. Oh well, I’ll get there. I should mention that I’m not stuffing myself either. I’ve been doing this for over a year now (not always consistent). I came to a point with eating the food where I was eating so much that nothing tasted good anymore. Everything tasted bland even the tastiest treat. So now I eat when I’m hungry not bc I should. Food doesn’t taste good unless I’m hungry

Thanks for your reply. I started drinking more milk and HiC drink. I think I wasn’t drinking enough fluids with salt and sugar in them. My temps aren’t stable yet. I envy those who can walk outside in the cold winter with a light coat and feel fine. Its strange. I really dont have any cravings with pregnancy. I eat what I want but don’t have any “cravings” for any particular food. Is this normal when pregnant?
