Very likely you just had more salt than your body could handle. Easy to test it by just drinking some water

Have you tried eating a carrot salad? This is a Ray Peat idea. Basically just grating some raw carrot. You can add salt vinegar coconut oil for some flavor. Wait at least an hour after meals to eat and another hour after eating this before eating anything else. Carrot salad actually warms me up.

If you can’t keep warm with foods then bundle up or stay some place warm. I woke up with a cold 2 days ago. Could not stop sneezing, stuffy nose, occasional coughing fits. I went outside and sat in my car which was warmed up by the sun and all my symptoms were gone. Its crazy and I don’t quite understand it but it did some good. Of course I developed a headache when I went to sleep but when morning came around I was fine.

    Hope that helps

I forgot I also eat cheese. The idea behind my diet is I do not want to spend much time in the kitchen and getting all the nutrients that stimulant my metabolism

Sorry takes me quite a while to type this stuff up sometimes.

The things I would do differently would be less “junk food”. I didn’t really have a plan when I started just calories calories and more calories. For me that meant fast food and crap in a box at the supermarket and eating way past fullness. After some more reading though these last six weeks I have a solid food plan for everyday.

Not telling everybody to eat like I do but here is a list of stuff I eat everyday :
fried eggs and potato in coco oil or butter + salt, I swallow the yolks raw
    fruits mostly orange and lemon
    coffee
    milk
    gummi bears
    Bugles
    Posada Steak Chimichangas
    Sierra Mist soda
cane sugar – I could add this to pretty much everything If I felt like it but mostly the coffee milk and making lemon sugar water
baking soda – I add a bit to drinks 1-2 times a day
cacao powder – dump some in my coffee everyday
    occasionally rice and w/e meat
I still eat fast food usually pizza or cheap Del Taco tacos 2-3 times a week

So my diet is Matt Stone/Danny Roddy/Andrew Kim inspired. I think I would have been fine eating like this from day 1 and less fat. I don’t blame Matt for being fat though, just my initial interpretation from reading his books was I need more calories and sugar after being on a paleo type diet. I definitely needed that experience to figure things out.

So there, that took way to long to type and I think I made some kind of point

I think Matt recently said in an email he already met his health goals. I don’t think he cares anymore about weight or fat which is why he may be normal/fat depending on who you ask.

I was planning on writing up a long detailed post once I reach my own health goals so I will keep it short here. I have been eating for heat for a couple months now and health is definitely better. I am also fat now but if I could go back in time and do it again with everything I have learned I am fairly confident I could do it with a lot less weight gain if any. I have a fairly simple diet now that I have adjusted along the way after reading Danny Roddy and Andrew Kim’s blogs.

Sorry I don’t have any proof or pictures. I was skeptical initially also but the only way I was going to learn what worked for me was doing it and that stands for pretty much anything you read that is health related no matter how much research is behind it.

A couple things that may help.

Cutting out all dairy from your diet. You should probably be able to tell in about a week if that helps.

Lastly I think your best option is increasing carbon dioxide production. I posted about it here http://180degreehealth.com/180forums/topic/congestion/

I had the worst nasal congestion when I was on low carb so yes (no allergies though). I would read Newsletter 3. Specifically Danny Roddy on carbon dioxide and all the links in the article.

You can also check out normalbreathing.com although imo that website is kinda messy, but probably its just my browser. I got an exercise from that website I do that quickly opens my sinuses. Normal inhale+exhale that takes 2-3 seconds then pause 2-4 seconds and repeat.

If the sugar is to much you can try balancing it out with some salty snacks. I’m hooked on bugles atm

I don’t really add sugar or cream to anything I eat but the drinks I make. I would guess that I drink in about 1500 calories of sugar a day and it doesn’t really fill me up to much. You really don’t need to sweat the calories much if your feeling warm and good though. That’s what I aim for

Yes get your temps up. No need to count calories. I got sick of eating so I got extra calories by adding lots of sugar to milk or the juices of a lemon/orange.

Yes you will feel full again. Perhaps you aren’t getting enough protein. Its usually why I get hungry between breakfast lunch or dinner.
