I am concerned about getting too restrictive with my diet, so I keep trying things after a while, to see if it has improved. I feel like I am pretty balanced now in choosing food based on a desire to truly nourish myself, so it’s just a matter of doing what works. Thanks for the input! I don’t even cook the zucchini noodles; I just use them fresh and raw most of the time. I recently had some zucchini noodles with homemade pesto, grated cheese, and some leftover cooked chicken. It was really good!

Yummy! I have discovered that I can’t really tolerate any starches, except for potatoes occasionally, so I will need to use zucchini noodles. Thanks!

As much cheese as I can stand. :) I usually use either cheddar or pepper jack, depending on my mood.

If you have the celiac gene, then it makes sense to avoid gluten, but I personally would eat everything else.

I have Hashimoto’s as well as some other autoimmune diseases, and I don’t find any negative effects from dairy products versus when I avoid them. Grass fed dairy products even have antiinflammatory nutrients, so I load up on them.

I ate a medium pizza for dinner a couple of nights ago. I agree – after eating “crestless” pizza or other imitations for so long, I really enjoyed that pizza!

Yum! Thanks for this thread; I am on here to look for ideas!

Meal 1: 2 slices plain cheesecake with fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream.

Meal 2: 1 chicken wing, 1 bite cheesecake, and a few spoonfuls of whipped cream

Meal 3: 3 turkey hot dogs (no bun) dipped in mustard, 1 pint whole raw milk

Meal 4: 2 cups cooked quinoa with coconut oil and lots of butter and Redmond salt, 4 oz. sausage, 1/2 large avocado, 1 raw probiotic pickle.

I am planning to make popcorn with lots of Kerrygold butter while I watch a movie later, and then I will have either ice cream or cereal with cream before bed.

People don’t always lose weight on the WAP diet. I have just realized that I have had troubles with my health the past couple of years, and it has been since my financial situation changed. I have been trying to stick to the WAP diet, but I have been eating a lot less food/calories these past couple of years, because I have been trying to stick to organic, grass fed, etc. which meant that I can’t buy as much food as I used to buy. I am now starting to make a lot of compromises with the quality of my food in order to make sure I get ENOUGH of it, and I am already starting to feel better after only a week. I feel like I would be the healthiest on a higher calorie WAP diet, but I have decided to prioritize calories since I can’t afford enough of all the ideal foods.

I found that drinking cream before bed helps me stay asleep longer, but I haven’t done that for a long time… and my sleep is terrible again. I didn’t know that sugar is part of the equation, but I usually had something sweet with the cream, so that makes sense. I had a crazy milkshake craving late last night, but it was too late to go get one. I need to start keeping ice cream on hand, apparently!

I love to fry potatoes in coconut oil, then add grated cheese and maybe some sausage. No PUFAs, high in calories, and delicious. :)

Oh, my word. I am diabetic (type 1), and I get people being the “food police” while they don’t really understand what the best diet is for me.
