I have reactive hypoglycemia as well and have for many years. It’s worse if I’m in a sustained caloric deficit. I get spacey and have a hard time finding words. Then I start to see spots and my vision gets kind of purple. (These are low blood sugar symptoms). If I take my blood sugar at this point, it’s typically in the low 50’s. Then the adrenaline kicks in, which is an awful feeling because I become very anxious, sweat profusely, and shake. Since I’ve been eating to satisfaction every morning, my symptoms have disappeared entirely. :-) Don’t be afraid to eat ladies!

    Hey ladies!
I too have struggled with being a little heavier than I’d like. Now I’m starting to realize that it’s all in my head. I’ve been super lean on a figure competitor’s diet for 6 months and it was miserable. Now I’m about 10-15 pounds over what I’d like and I feel great. I feel warm, muscular, energetic, and happy because I eat the food!
I’m going to roll with this a while and lift heavy weights because I want to. I’m also going to run outdoors tomorrow because it’s going to be warm, (what a miserable winter), because running revives me. I don’t have to log my workouts, or my food, or have a goal other than living the life I have. Let it go ladies and embrace the body you’ve been given!
    Cheers,
    Crystal

Here’s my two cents. I believe the reason obese folks exist is because they are stuck in a cycle of over eating and under eating. While eating for heat, you are at first over eating and then eating to maintenance.
I love my co-worker, but she’ll go through bouts of intense exercise and calorie restriction thinking she’ll finally drop those 80 extra pounds. I’ve tried to talk some sense into her because she worked out the other morning while fasted and didn’t eat for another 3 or so hours later. She was complaining she was cold. Duh! Then when she “falls off the wagon” she over eats. Then ramps it up a notch as “last supper eating” before she goes on another diet/exercise regimen.

There are no “good” or ” bad” foods in my book. I eat what I want, when I want, and however much I want. I can walk away from a doughnut because it doesn’t sound appetizing at the time. Food has no pull on me. I lift heavy a few times a week and enjoy the endorphins from occasional runs outdoors. This is freedom. I’m 5’9″ and 160 pounds and trying to love this active, warm, amazon woman body. I’m not quite there yet, but I will say that Matt is onto something here.
    Cheers!!

I used to bring a bag of frozen chicken breasts to work and just heat them in the microwave. Then I would spear it with my fork and go all Neanderthal on it. Yuck! No salt, pepper, condiments, or anything!
