Starting this afternoon and running a hair past midnight (Eastern time) after Father’s Day, you can get any Matt Stone eBook for $2.99 on Amazon. All weekend basically. Normal prices are typically $9.99. Click HERE.
I read “Eat for Heat” and it was very good and is definitly top of mind and has kind of thrown me for a loop because up until i read this Ive been in the sugar is bad frame of mind! How much weight (fat) would one expect to gain by “eating for heat”? While the concept makes a lot of sense……. I’m concerned about increasing my sex drive while simultaneously decreasing my wife’s with a fat ass belly! :-) I also wonder about eating a ton of salt getting thirsty and ending up with cankles like when they pump you full of saline in the hospital! Thanks
I really liked the last post with CJ and tweaking for maximum health but tailored for your needs. I would like to improve my digestion and other health markers, but unlike most people here, I don’t need to raise my temperature. I just measured 99.4 degrees F, but I think that my thermometer is broken.
I already own “Eat for Heat” and I noticed that you have a book for digestive health. Is the information in this book still current? Going to get the Paleo book now.
180 Digestion will be re-released later this year or early next 2014 to be more current as well as more useful and practical. The best books to get at this time are Eat for Heat, Diet Recovery 2, Solving the Paleo Equation, 12 Paleo Myths, and The Vegan Solution.
Hi Matt,
I am just finishing up ready Diet Recovery 2- as a Holistic Nutritionist, I find the information very interesting. I’d like to give it a try, but not sure how to start. I have been on the GAPS/Paleo diet for the last 8 months. I am trying to get off, but I am now having heart palpitations after eating and I get really weak and confused. It’s bizarre, never had anything like this before. Have you ever heard of something like this? It’s surely related to the massive amounts of meat, bone broth, butter, coconut oil or something else I’ve been eating. My doctor thinks it’s due to sulfur, but avoiding that is nearly impossible. Now I don’t know what to do, it’s like I can’t eat anything!!
“Now I don’t know what to do, it’s like I can’t eat anything!!”
I’ve never heard of anyone NOT experiencing this after GAPS/Paleo, lol.
Just keep at it and don’t overreact to your transitional symptoms. You should notice steady improvement over time as you increase calories and carbohydrates. Your problems are caused mostly by eating too much fat by proportion of your diet and too little calories overall. You are basically having hypoglycemic-like reactions, but that won’t last if you keep forging ahead.
Hi Cathy
I had all that & more on GAPS. Woke up one day, thinking “Hmm, maybe this isn’t as good as they’re all saying it is”. Googled “criticism of GAPS diet” (because I thought I must be the only mad cow not feeling so great on it) when I found an article about it by Matt. I started reading more stuff on 180D Health until I was pretty sure I wouldn’t die if I ate a piece of bread. Took ages to get up the courage & I remember weeping in my kitchen being too scared to eat anything and my goodness, what was safe to feed the children if I decided to turn my back on GAPS? Anyway, I took the plunge and eat almost anything now and am enjoying food for the first time in a very long time. Also sleeping really well. Following Matt’s ideas has been absolutely fantastic for me. Thanks Matt.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. It’s frustrating because I believe that Paleo and GAPS make so much sense. I feel like they SHOULD work. Oh well, on with the carbs….
Not sure. You might have ordered the paperback, or may have been in another country. The US Kindle edition was at $2.99 until after midnight Pacific time.
First!
What its the book someone should get to learn how to improve my metabolism for purposes of general health but especially for weightloss?
180 Metabolism is the only “weight loss” type of book, but you’d be best off reading Diet Recovery 2.

Thoughts?
Wow, Matt, I didn’t realize you had written so many books.
I can’t see anything for 2.99$…
The Kindle editions are all $2.99. It should be up there.
I do not see anything for $2.99 either.
You might be looking at the paperback editions, or at a non-US Amazon site. But it is $2.99 for another hour or so
I bought Diet Recovery yesterday using the link and was charged $9.99. Do you know why this happened? I was using my iPhone. :)
Not sure. You might have ordered the paperback, or may have been in another country. The US Kindle edition was at $2.99 until after midnight Pacific time.
