Wow this is really eye opening. I’ve heard for years all the amazing benefits of sulfur in MSM form. My wife Kate just found out she can’t methylate sulfur and has been on an anti sulfur diet and it has changed her life. Thanks for sharing this info!
Justin, can you elaborate on what some of your wife’s symptoms were? I know a nutritionist that keeps pushing this on many of her clients, and I’m not sure it’s warranted. Would love to hear from someone that actually has this. Also, how did she find out? Testing?
Most MD Docs warn of MSM due to the fact that it’s natural and highly effective. Doesn’t make them money if we are healthy. I use MSN recommended by my Boulder, CO Naturopathic doc and have had amazing results. I also am vegan which improves inflammation dramatically well. No more migraine headaches either! I have 5 bad discs throughout my neck and back and have not had to have surgery! I was a competitive gymnast for years and it takes it’s toll on the body! I’m 44 and look like I’m in my twenties. It truly is wonderful! Hope this helps.
A Dr. told me to take this a few years ago, before I was 80.
I did for a container, and went to work on the oil fields. Came back and went to see him, and he said if I hadn’t stopped i wouldn’t have these brown spots on my hands and arms. I started up again, and am now almost 86… I don’t have a pain in my body, and my skin got so light on my hands, the fingers white with all the brown spots I had a dermatologist remove twice, those big brown ones never came back, and my hair.. I get nothing but compliments from the barber when I get my hair cut. they say how thick it is. I let it go white. But now I fear it is getting dark at new grown at neckline, and I don’t like it, as I like it white. If I get a hip pain like arthritis, I realize I used up all my bottles (I use 2 tsp per 12 bottle now (heavy plastic) Sip on one about 3 -4 days a week. I think my Dr. knew what he was talking about. I take no B> P.. nor any other medication. My eyes are getting better, and no cataracts yet, and drive better vision than with glasses on. Read the Chemistry of God’s Temple I got in mail yesterday. It makes sense. We are made of soil bases elements, and We still need it instead of chemicals. Thats my two cents worth.
Ah yes, the supplement so good for you it kills you. There seem to be a lot of those.
After reading Epi-Paleo by Jack Kruse, I put my boyfriend and myself on a regiment of vitamins and supplements that included ACV (apple cider vinegar), MSM, a Multi from Life Extension, Vitamin D-3/K-2 and probiotics. It only took 3 days for the headaches, nausea, exhaustion and for boyfriend, aches in his benign cysts to set it. We are now supplement free and feeling much better.
Amen, only supplement you need is Fish Oil and maybe magnesium.
And I take some extra Vit D, since I live in North Europe.
That is called a herxheimer reaction… Which will not last long. Maybe a few days. You could’ve backed off and then started again.. It’s caused whether you’re body is dumping toxins quickly… You were actually getting better..

You should pay attention to the possibility the supplement improved your health. Your body used the improved health to get aggressive about detoxing. Maybe reducing the dosages will give you a detoxing reaction that you can tolerate.
That was your body detoxing. Had you hung on for a week longer you would’ve seen benefits.
This headline is really misleading. It should be retitled “The dangers of a “doctor” taking ridiculously high doses of MSM based on the suggestions of total strangers on the internet”.
And newsflash: molybdenum is needed to convert sulfur/sulfite (which was probably the issue) into sulfate, which Seneff says is critical to good health.
for Jennifer Ford May I suggest embarking on one new supplement at a time. Then you may be able to determine which supplement did or did not agree with you. A week or two later add one more. Blessings
I’ve been using MSM for over 20 years. I’m pushing 70 and my health is excellent. Better than most people years younger and I wouldn’t be without it. I don’t do pharmaceutical drugs and never will. My 90 year old mother hurt her back and the MD put her on pain pills that constipated her. She was miserable. I put her on MSM and the pain was relieved as was the constipation. By the way my mom is pharmaceutically drug free.
I read that my body needs water.
So naturally, yesterday I drank 256 ounces. I literally got no sleep last night due to all the additional urinating.
I have concluded that water is toxic for sleep. No more water.
